Les Liaisons Dangereuses (Dangerous Liaisons)
By Christopher Hampton, from the novel by Choderlos de Laclos
October 15-18, 2009
If ever there were two figures whose heartless unaccountability could serve to usher in the coming
revolution suggested in the play's final scene, it's la Marquise de Merteuil and le Vicomte de Valmont.
Occasional lovers engaged in seduce-and-destroy one-upmanship, they are the principal players in this
lethal chess game set in the mid-1780s.
The Underpants
By Steve Martin, adapted from Carl Sternheim
December 3-6, 2009
The renowned comic actor Steve Martin wrote the hilarious play Picasso at the Lapin Agile, which we
presented a few seasons back. Now he's adapted a modern (well, from 1911) German comedy about the comely
young housewife Louise Maske who, while minding her own business, watching a parade, experiences a wardrobe
malfunction that instantly transforms her into a national sex object. Her husband Theo, a stolid government
clerk, sees the incident only as a threat to his job, and so doesn't recognize the intentions of the swains
who appear at their door looking for a room to rent. Their competition for her attentions, and her gradual
awakening to her newfound power, make for another rollicking evening of theatre.

Rabbit Hole
By David Lindsay-Abaire
March 4-7, 2010
A brilliant new play, Rabbit Hole won the 2006 Pulitzer Prize for drama. Becca and Howie Corbett have
everything a family could want, until a life-shattering accident turns their world upside down and leaves the
couple drifting perilously apart. Rabbit Hole charts their bittersweet search for comfort in the darkest
of places and for a path that will lead them back into the light of day.
Curtains
Book by Rupert Holmes, lyrics by Fred Ebb, and music by John Kander, with additional lyrics by Kander and Holmes
April 22-25 and April 29-May 2, 2010
Curtains is a musical send-up of backstage murder mystery plots and reveals the fallout when the supremely
untalented star of Robbin' Hood of the Old West is murdered during her opening night curtain call. Can a police
detective who moonlights as a musical theater fan save the show, solve the case, and maybe even find love before the
show reopens, without getting killed himself?
Arya
By Orada Lelanuja
November 2-8, 2009
After being lost in the spirit world, the spirit of a woman is asked to tell her stories. Reluctantly, she starts
recalling three stories of her three different lifetimes: one in a far away ancient village, one in a small
Mediterranean island, and one in modern day America. As her stories unfold, the spirit tries to find the right
direction that she needs to go.
