Shawn T Bible holds a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in Social Science with an emphasis in Health Studies and a Dance Specialization from Michigan State University, and his M.F.A in Dance from the University of Michigan.

Bible's research interests include the intersection of dance and technology in controlled and uncontrolled environments. Specifically, he examines the use of digital video equipment, motion- capture sensors, magnetic fields and interactive body apparatus that allow the capture or influence of movements of the human body.

Bible has been a Visiting Assistant Professor in Dance at Idaho State University and an Adjunct Lecturer in the Dance Department at the University of Michigan. He has received an International Institute Travel Grant to study Michelangelo’s frescoes on the Sistine Chapel in Rome, Italy. He has also won a Rackham Film Award for his videodance Dominique.

Bible is also an oil painter and a former Product Designer for the Joe Boxer line at Kmart Corporation. Due to his corporate computer design experience Bible began to incorporate technology into his choreography. He frequently incorporates aspects of computer created and manipulated movement phrases alongside video-projection and live-feed video projected backgrounds. He also choreographs, films and directs his own videodances which are submitted to dance on film festivals nationally and internationally.

Shawn’s partner of 10 years is Matt Gonzales, a Band and Choir Director at the International Academy in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. They have two Chihuahuas, Charly and Montana, whom they adore.
