Amanda M. Staats is originally from Southwest Kansas. She holds a BFA in Theatre Design from the University
of Kansas and a MFA in Costume Technologies from Mason Gross School of the Arts at
Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. Amanda spent four years working in New
York City for several costume shops, including: Eric Winterling, Inc.; Killer Studio;,
and the Paper Mill Playhouse. She worked on a variety of things in that time: Broadway
plays, operas, movies, television, theme parks, and the circus. Amanda is a Company
Member of Mile Square Theater of Hoboken, NJ, where she was a resident designer.
She has also worked at the Portland Playhouse (in Portland, ME), the Santa Fe Opera,
Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Costume Gallery of Newport, KY, as well as many
summers as a camp counselor in southern Maine.
