Welcome to the Department of Theatre and Dance
web site. As Chair of the department I welcome
your interest in our various and exciting
programs! The Department of Theatre and Dance is
accredited by the National Association of
Schools of Theatre and has a rich heritage of
productions dating back to 1926. It continues to
offer the serious student the opportunity to
become involved in productions from their first
day on campus!
The programs at Tech are based on a working
knowledge of the art and craft of Theatre and
Dance. We emphasize both classroom and practical
production experiences. The teaching of Theatre
and Dance at Texas Tech is largely tutorial, with a strong
commitment to the mentoring of students. At
Tech, we strive to look at each student as an
individual, considering your desires and goals
within the framework of a solid education.
