TLPDC Faculty Fellow - STEP Program

The Teaching, Learning, and Professional Development Center seeks a Faculty Fellow for a one-year, part-time position with a 0.25 appointment beginning fall 2018 and running through spring 2019, with an optional continued appointment in summer 2019.

The goal of this Faculty Fellowship is to strengthen the STEP Program and continue development of a STEM education network. Possible projects and deliverables will develop through discussion with the STEP Program Administrator and TLPDC staff, but could include Discipline-based Education Research (DBER) projects, extramural proposal preparation, development of workshops or resources related to inclusive teaching practices in STEM classes, teaching consultations with interested STEM faculty members, or other ideas to supplement existing programs and resources.

In this role, the Fellow will collaborate with colleagues at the TLPDC and in other academic and administrative offices across campus. The Fellow will be expected to participate as an active member of the TLPDC and STEP Program (e.g., contributing to team meetings, providing ideas/suggestions on related projects, maintaining presence in the office). The Fellow will work directly with the STEP Program Administrator.

Eligibility: All full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty, full-time professors of practice, or full-time instructors are eligible to apply.

Evaluation of Applications: Applicants will be evaluated by a selection committee based upon overall potential for contribution to STEP initiatives, excellent communication skills, fit of project to faculty member's expertise, and approval from department chair.

Deadline for Applications: Monday, August 27, 2018
