Computational Thinking for Middle School Students through the Integration of Graphical Programming and Robotics

Computational Thinking Graphical Programming Banner

  • This project seeks to integrate 3D programming and autonomous robotics under the over-arching concept of computational thinking as a means of stimulating interest in computing from underrepresented groups.
  • An educational tool that integrates the Alice 3D programming environment with autonomous wheeled robots (with on-board sensing) has been created.
  • We are developing the associated curriculum and we will be evaluating this tool through camps organized in Spring-Summer 2012 for middle-school students from local schools.
