Richard Krupar III, BS
Bio
Richard Krupar III is the field coordinator for the TTUHRT and has assumed the role
beginning in 2011. He also provides web support for the TTUHRT. Rich is a PhD candidate
in Wind Science and Engineering and holds a BS in Atmospheric Science from Valparaiso
University. He is a native of Elyria, Ohio. Krupar was a member of the 2010 TTU VORTEX
2 team where he was responsible for StickNet deployments and also drove TTUKa-2. He
has participated in TTUHRT deployments for Hurricanes Irene (2011), Isaac (2012),
and Sandy (2012), project SCOUT, and numerous TTUKa-band mobile Doppler radar wind
farm deployments. Krupar's research interests lie in the use of near-surface tower
and WSR-88D data to develop surface adjustment techniques for Doppler velocity data
collected in landfalling tropical cyclones.
