Texas Tech University Elementary School
Kindergarten through third grade courses are designed primarily for parents or tutors working with elementary students in a home environment. Our comprehensive, easy-to-follow lesson plans are written by experienced, Texas-certified classroom teachers and do not require a teaching background to use. The comprehensive course guides include clearly written daily lessons, worksheets, answer keys, and tests to accompany the lessons. Lessons are written to appeal to students with different learning styles and include application activities that emphasize higher-level thinking skills. Elementary students are introduced to online coursework gradually, beginning with online resources that enhance the learning environment and ending with full online coursework.
The elementary curriculum focuses on four disciplines: language arts, science, social studies, and math. Each course consists of two semesters. Each semester course offers 75 days of instruction and may be purchased as a grade-level set or as a combination of grade-level courses to accommodate the needs of multi-leveled students. Required textbooks are listed in the individual course descriptions on our website.
Texas Tech University Middle School
Each middle school course is divided into two semesters, with an average of nine lessons and one final examination per semester. Students will complete their lessons in our Online Learning Management System and a pre-approved proctor administers the final examination. Students have up to six months to complete each course.
Texas Tech University High School
TTUISD High School students must satisfactorily complete 26 academic credits (Foundation Plus Endorsement Plan) in order to earn a Texas high school diploma. Students must also pass the STAAR End of Course Exams in certain subjects. A student must be enrolled in the TTUISD High School Diploma Program and successfully complete the last 2.5 course credits through TTUISD High School before they are eligible to receive a diploma. The last 2.5 credits prior to graduation must be full courses and cannot be CBEs.
TTUISD also offers Texas Tech University competitive scholarship opportunities to those students who are currently enrolled in or former graduates of the program. TTUISD students score above the national average on the SAT and ACT college entrance exams.
