Lifelong Texas Tech Fan becomes Student
May 07, 2010

Texas Tech University's self-proclaimed biggest fan has never attended a class in Lubbock, Texas, but she is a Texas Tech student. Patricia Barrientos is currently taking a combination of courses; her lower-division courses are offered at Mountain View Community College, through which she will complete the coursework required to earn an associate's degree in teaching.
Her upper-division courses, required to earn a Bachelor of Science in Multidisciplinary Studies, are offered by Texas Tech University through a unique partnership with the Dallas County Community College District called Project TEACH.
Barrientos is clear about the motivation behind her desire to become a teacher, and even more sure about her desire to be a part of Texas Tech University.
