TTUISD students reunite in France
August 22, 2008
Two TTUISD students recently met up for a reunion in Paris, France, to enjoy food, fashion, art and time with each other. Sarah, who lives in Rowlett, Texas, traveled there to visit her best friend Jenna, a resident of Paris.
Sarah and Jenna became friends nine years ago when they met at church in Dallas. Though Jenna's mom grew up in that church, her dad is from France, and, several years ago, Jenna's family decided to move there. The girls saw each other once a year when Jenna returned to Texas to visit, but this year, it was Sarah's turn. "I was very curious about the culture of France before I took the trip, and I was intrigued by stories Jenna had told me," Sarah said, "I enjoyed my stay very much and the food was fabulous."
Traveling is nothing new to Sarah. The seventeen-year-old has already had her passport stamped in the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Estonia, Russia and Germany, all since being enrolled in TTUISD. She said she loves meeting people who live differently than she does and believes travel is the best way to learn. Sarah also said her travels made her realize how blessed she is to live in America.
Sarah chose TTUISD because of the flexibility the courses give her. She said the freedom also allows her to volunteer at a therapeutic riding center near her home as well as work at the local Public Library. Between world-wide traveling and contributing to her community, Sarah also loves to spend as much time as possible with her family.
