Like any other eight-year-old, Darren likes to play outside. The only difference is that his playground is Italy. Darren comes from a military family who is currently stationed in Sigonella, Sicily.

"Having to move all around the country and world, it is nice to know that our children can have something that is familiar to them," Tosha said. "TTUISD has always had someone to answer my questions and concerns promptly."

Tosha found TTUISD through the Texas Board of Education and said that TTUISD makes it easy for the student as well as the educator going through the program for the first time. Tosha also said that the coursework seems to flow and every week Darren knows what to expect.

"We have faced many challenges with our family constantly moving," Darren’s mom Tosha said, "but I refuse to let my son’s education suffer."

Darren said his favorite part about living in Italy is traveling to new places. "I liked Greece because the hotels were fun," Darren said.

When not working on school assignments or traveling, Darren is a normal eight-year-old who enjoys playing with his hot wheel cars. When he grows up, he wants to be a NASCAR driver.
