Description:
PDWE 0006: Learn the fundamentals of occupational safety, emphasizing regulatory requirements and best practices targeted to eliminate or reduce major sources of occupational injuries. Hazard identification, behavioral safety, and incident investigation will be discussed. At the end of this course you will be able to: identify and understand fundamental safety standards, identify common safety hazards and recommend remediation, develop training materials for employees exposed to specific hazards, track and trend injury statistics, and investigate near misses and injuries.

Instructor/Presenter: Dr. Patrick Patterson obtained a Ph.D. from Texas A&M University in 1984. Currently, he serves as the Chair of the Industrial Engineering Department at Texas Tech University.
