Course Structure
Course work is self-paced and can be completed entirely online. Individuals will have 60 days to complete the 18 hour course. Upon successful completion, students will receive 1.8 Continuing Education Units as well as a fundamental understanding of wind power grid integration.

Instructor/Presenter: Dr. Donald (Don) Farris is currently an instructor and Graduate Coordinator for the Wind Energy Programs at Texas Tech University. Dr. Farris has an extensive background including 21 years as an Electrical Engineering professor at Baylor University. His career also includes research in air-to-air identification of aircraft at Lockheed. Dr. Farris has also researched control systems for solar heated and cooled buildings at the Los Alamos National Laboratory and has also served as an Electrical Engineering professor at the University of Evansville. Dr. Farris holds a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas Tech University and holds a Masters degree and Docotr of Philosophy degree in Electrical Engineering from Southern Methodist University.
