One-act play contest is organized and executed in accordance with the “Guide
for One-Act Play Contest Managers” in the current Handbook for

TAKS TESTING: Rooms on the 2nd floor of the Student Union Building are available Friday and Saturday, 8 am to 4 pm, for testing. Friday, SOPSUDS, (use the stairs by the food court); Saturday, MESA ROOM. Directional signs beginning at the stairway next to the food court will be in place. Monitoring is the responsibility of participants.
Schedules of performance times were determined by independent draw and maybe altered as deemed necessary by the contest director. OAP directors are responsible for notifying the Regional OAP Director of rehearsal and/or performance conflicts with academic events. Conflicts are due by signed fax, 806-742-1660, no later than 5 pm, Monday, following Area competition.
Upon qualifying for Area directors must mail approved scripts to Dr. Cynthia SoRelle, c/o McLennan College, 1400 College Drive, Waco, TX 76708. All scripts will be returned.
Upon advancing to Area directors should
send a production photograph to UIL-TTU, 2903 4th St, Room 110, (Box
45035) Lubbock TX 79409-5035
or as an email to
lynn.elms@ttu.edu .
Please include identifying characteristics such as names, scene, location
or specifics the photograph requires. Mailed photographs will be
returned.
Rehearsal times will
be scheduled based upon mileage to contest site with those schools traveling
farthest rehearsing latest.
Each school must present OAP payment of $300 during
the Director's meeting with the Critic Judge.

An awards’ ceremony follows the final performance.
The critic judge provides commentary following the awards’ ceremony.
The UIL approved “unit set” is available for all
entrants’ utilization. No window
or door units available.
Regional contest instructions provided by Area
Managers is the responsibility of each advancing director.
Schools are assigned a homeroom in the Lubbock Municipal Auditorium/Coliseum. Please do not leave valuables in homerooms. Specific dressing room equipment or needs (makeup mirrors, etc.) is the responsibility of each school. If possible a warm-up room will be available for schools the hour prior to performance. Alternates are not permitted in either space.
