Program Offerings
Upward Bound Sessions
Texas Tech University Upward Bound offers great opportunities to its students during its academic year and summer components.
First Saturday Of the Month’s FSOM’s
During each first Saturday of the month upward bound students participate in hands on classes which are comprised of creative cultural experiences. These classes are held to bring the students together and allow them to work on their social and team-working skills. Both Quest and Select sections participate in the FSOM’s. The FSOM session is held from 8:00 a.m. until 2:45 p.m.
Summer Component
Upward Bound students are given the opportunity to live in a Texas Tech University residence hall for one summer session (approximately 5 weeks).
Bridge (high-school graduates)- These students are enrolled in six hours of university classes.
Non-Bridge (current high-school students)- attend Upward Bound college-prep classes.
Core Classes for Non Bridge students- Math, Science, Literature/Composition, Language Exchange, Latin, and several elective enrichment courses in which the students get to provide various services to the community.
