What is Texas Tech Discoveries Magazine?

Texas Tech Discoveries is an online-based, biannual publication, produced by the Office of the Vice President for Research. Our mission is to inform the community and the world about the ongoing research, scholarship, and creative activity at Texas Tech.

This magazine is an opportunity as an emerging research institution to tell the stories of our scholars engaged in disciplines from the physical and social sciences to the arts and humanities.

Within this publication you will find profiles in excellence and discovery, featuring our distinguished researchers, graduate and undergraduate students, and alumni; the latest research stories and news briefs; book announcements; accomplishments and awards; and interactive media, from video and audio clips to image galleries and social media.

As with all new endeavors, we expect this latest adventure to grow and improve with time, technology, and the ever-changing landscape of research in higher education. Meantime, we hope you enjoy this edition of Texas Tech Discoveries.
