BurkTech Players

Using theatre to help those with autism.

The Texas Tech BurkTech Players were born out of a community project undertaken by students in the School of Theatre and Dance with the cooperation of the Burkhart Center for Autism Education and Research.

This project allows students with autism to creatively express themselves in the structured environment of professional theatre.

Once the project was finished, a theatre company was formed, and now they carry on that same mission by helping out students from elementary through high school who are on the autism spectrum. Take a look at how a good idea became a truly amazing reality.
