Education Research Initiative
To enhance opportunities in education research, the Office of the Vice President for Research announces the availability of a competition for grant support to stimulate the generation of new and innovative programs in this important area. The funds will be awarded on a competitive basis. Proposals will be judged by external experts based on their academic merit and their likelihood of generating sustainable extramural funding.
Proposals may be submitted by any Texas Tech principal investigator, regardless of departmental affiliation. There are no limits to the amount that may be requested – except that it may not exceed $125,000. Applicants are encouraged to propose interdisciplinary programs that have the potential to introduce new, novel areas of academic collaboration that will lead to new grant funding.
For programmatic focus, proposal topics may include research in: teaching methods, pedagogy, evaluation and assessment, curriculum development, or any other aspect of education. We encourage proposals to study retention, remedial preparation, and teacher training.
