Arzu Ozbek Akay
Bio
Arzu Ozbek Akay serves as the Director of Research Programming for the Office of the Vice President for Research. In this position, she leads the software development process for divisional web application initiatives. She also is responsible for comprehensive reporting of research metrics for the university.
Amy Baugh
Bio
Amy Baugh is the Financial Conflict of Interest Administrator in the Office of the Vice President for Research (Integrity). She works with Dr. Marianne Evola and Dr. Alice Young on responsible research, specifically financial disclosure and conflicts of interest (COI).
Kristina Butler
Bio
Kristina Woods Butler serves as Associate Director, Research and Academic Communications in the Office of the Vice President for Research. In this role, she creates content for the vice president for research Website and subsequent sites, Texas Tech Discoveries online research magazine, and other research communications.
Dustin Delano
Bio
Dustin Delano serves as Unit Coordinator in the Office of the Vice President for Research. In this role, he assists Michael San Francisco, associate vice president for research-faculty development, and Alice Young, associate vice president for research-research integrity. He aids the research development team as well as performs other tasks to assist the OVPR.
David Dorsett
Bio
David Dorsett serves as the Building Manager for the Experimental Sciences and East Loop Research Buildings. In this role, David coordinates with various TTU departments to ensure that these facilities are properly maintained and also participates in renovation and new construction projects in these buildings.
Marianne Evola
Bio
Marianne Evola, Ph.D. serves as the Responsible Conduct in Research (RCR) Administrator in the Office of the Vice President for Research. In this role, Marianne works under the supervision of Alice M. Young, Ph.D. to raise awareness to the importance of ethical and safe research practices in all research trainees.
Wendoli Flores
Bio
Wendoli Flores serves as the Executive Administrative Associate in the Office of the Vice President for Research. She joined the OVPR in November 2011. In her role, she provides the Vice President for Research high-level administrative support including focused real-time support of the Vice President’s day-to-day operations.
Kathleen Harris
Bio
Kathleen Everett Harris is Senior Associate Vice President for Research. She directs the Office of Research Services (ORS) and serves as the facility security officer. After four years as assistant director of affirmative action at Texas Tech, she joined ORS as assistant director in 1987.
Nicole Hart
Nicole Hart is a student assistant in the Office the Vice President for Research. She is a psychology major, minoring in mass communications, from Grapevine. She plans to graduate in May 2014 and go on to graduate school to pursue a career in psychology.
Katy Henderson
Bio
Katy Henderson serves as Assistant Vice President for Research - Finance and Administration. In this role, she has oversight of the administrative functions of the Office of the Vice President for Research, has financial oversight for research division funding, and serves as the financial liaison for university-wide research funded initiatives. Katy has worked for the Vice President for Research since 1997.

Scott Irlbeck serves as senior editor in the Office of the Vice President for Research at Texas Tech. In this role, he develops content and communicates the university’s key academic messages through written stories, video productions and audio podcasts.
Lakya Lewis
Lakya Lewis is a student assistant in the Office of the Vice President for Research. Lakya is a psychology major with a minor in human development and family studies. After graduation she would like to work with youth in the juvenile justice system.
Esther Lucey
Bio
Esther Lucey serves as Analyst II for the OVPR Human Research Protection Program. She provides support to investigators in the processing of submitting new research proposals involving human subjects and continues that support to investigators requesting protocol extensions, amendments and terminations.
Liliana Minjares
Liliana Minjares is a student assistant for the Office of the Vice President for Research. Liliana is a restaurant, hotel and institutional management major from Hobbs, New Mexico. She is currently studying abroad in Italy. After graduating in Dec. 2013, she plans on attending culinary school.
Charisse S. Moore
Bio
Charisse S. Moore currently serves as the Senior Proposal Development Administrator for the Research Development Team (RDT) in the Office of the Vice President for Research. In this role, she works with faculty to develop large, multi-disciplinary proposals to federal agencies and corporate foundations.
Tayler Odhiambo
Bio
Tayler Odhiambo serves as the Unit Coordinator in the Office of the Vice President for Research. She provides support in the coordination and supervision of programs through the development, implementation, maintenance, reconciliation and tracking of budgets for the OVPR, Associate Vice Presidents for Research Integrity, Faculty Development and Institutional Review Board. She also is the human resources coordinator for the OVPR.
Dolapo Ojutiku
Dolapo Ojutiku is a student assistant for the Human Resources Protection Program in the Office of the Vice President for Research. Dolapo is from Port Harcourt, Nigeria, and studies Management Information Systems. He plans to graduate in the summer of 2014 and go to graduate school to become a Software Engineer.
Donna Peters
Bio
Donna Peters is the Coordinator for the Texas Tech University Institutional Review Board. She assists investigators with proposal submissions, approval notifications, extensions, amendments and terminations of their research studies involving human subjects.
Rachel Pierce
Bio
Rachel Pierce serves as senior editor for academic and research communications in the Offices of the Provost and Vice President for Research. She creates and edits content for the online academic journal All Things Texas Tech, research magazine Texas Tech Discoveries, and the websites of the Provost and Vice President for Research. She also produces AcademiCast, a biweekly podcast from the Office of the Provost.
Samantha Piercy
Samantha Piercy works as a student assistant in the Office of the Vice President for Research. Samantha is an animal science major from Lubbock and plans to graduate in May 2014. Samantha is currently studying abroad in Chile. She hopes to pursue a career in Washington, DC after graduation.

Sally Logue Post serves as Senior Director of Research and Academic Communications in the Office of the Vice President for Research. In this role, she assists the vice president for research and the provost with various communications needs.
Rick Shupe
Bio
Rick Shupe serves as senior analyst in the Human Research Protection Program in the Office of the Vice President for Research. In this role he provides support to TTU investigators in the processing of submitting new proposals of their research studies involving human subjects and continues that support to investigators requesting protocol extensions, amendments and terminations.
Josie Solis
Bio
Josie Solis serves as the Senior Specialist in the Office of the Vice President for Research. In her role, she provides specialized office and project support for the staff of OVPR. Josie also serves as the first point of contact as well as reception support to the office.
Linda True
Bio
Linda True serves as the Executive Associate in the Office of the Vice President for Research. Her duties are focused on the many matters related to supporting the efforts of the Vice President for Research and the office: research awards; sensitive projects support; visits by state officials and agency representatives; certain chair and faculty searches; and long-term projects.
Jobin Varughese
Jobin Varughese serves as a graduate assistant for research programming. Jobin is from Kerala, India, and plans to graduate with a Master of Science in electrical engineering in May 2013. After graduation he will pursue a Ph.D. in embedded systems.
Alice M. Young
Bio
Alice M. Young, Ph.D., is Associate Vice President for Research (Research Integrity) in the Office of the Vice President for Research. In her role as associate vice president for research, Dr. Young is working with the TTU Ethics Center to develop TTU’s Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) training programs. She also works with all TTU research compliance offices and works jointly with Dr. Michael San Francisco to support TTU’s multiple research development initiatives.
