Heather A. Morris

Associate Managing Director

Heather A. Morris serves as Associate Managing Director of the Research Development Team (RDT) in the Office of the Vice President for Research at Texas Tech University. In this role, she reports to the Vice President for Research. Heather assists in crafting large center-type research and development proposals to major federal funding agencies and private and corporate foundations; leading teams of faculty and administrators in selecting targets for large institutional initiatives; building relationships with external institutions and funding agencies on behalf of the institution and principal investigators; and participating in obtaining institutional commitments. She joined the OVPR in April 2010, having, among other things, served on the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and worked as an Assistant Emergency Management Coordinator in the Office of the President and a Pre-awards Analyst in the Office of Research Services at Texas Tech.

Heather graduated from Texas Tech University with both a Bachelor’s Degree in English and a Master of Public Administration.
