Rachel Pierce

Senior Editor for Academic and Research Communications

Rachel Pierce serves as senior editor for academic and research communications in the Offices of the Provost and Vice President for Research. She creates and edits content for the online academic journal All Things Texas Tech, research magazine Texas Tech Discoveries, and the websites of the Provost and Vice President for Research. She also produces AcademiCast, a biweekly podcast from the Office of the Provost.

Rachel joined Texas Tech’s academic and research communications team in 2011. Prior to working for the university, she covered the food, retail and consumer products industries for business research firm Hoover’s, and she managed multimedia news content for the websites of Austin’s NBC and CBS affiliates. Rachel also has done freelance work in book editing and Web design. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin.
