Texas Tech University

Cayuse SP and 424 Training

October 16, 2013

The Office of Research is excited to announce the second phase of the Cayuse Research Suite, Cayuse SP (Sponsored Projects) will be ready to roll out soon. Cayuse SP will completely rewrite TTU’s internal routing process. With this second phase implementation, electronic routing will become mandatory. ORS will no longer be able to accept the paper, hardcopy routing sheets once Cayuse SP is live.

To that purpose, the Office of Research Services has expanded and scheduled more Cayuse Training Sessions for:

  • Thurs., Oct. 24, 2013, from 9:30 a.m.-12 p.m.
  • Nov. 1, 2013, from 9-11:30 a.m.
  • Nov. 15, 2013, from 9:30 a.m.-12 p.m.

All trainings will be held at the TLPDC, Room 151.

Cayuse SP, the electronic routing, will be covered in the first part of the sessions and Cayuse 424, the federal grants’ proposal submission, will be covered in the second part of the training.

Priority will be given first to faculty and staff and then to graduate students.

If you are planning to submit a proposal in the near future, this is a training you will want to attend. You will learn to navigate the routing and proposal submission system Texas Tech University has purchased. You will see how to create the routing record, set up the routing chains, and certify the proposal. You will also learn how to update personal profiles, search funding opportunities, route proposals electronically and complete grants.gov forms.

Additional information is available on the ORS website (http://www.depts.ttu.edu/vpr/ors/cayuse/index.php).

Seating is limited to 15 per session and there are plans to schedule more training sessions in the later this semester.

If you do want to attend one of these sessions, please RSVP to Cindal Peterson, cindal.peterson@ttu.edu.

Unable to attend one of these sessions during the 8-5 workday? There are step-by-step information modules available 24/7, on the ORS website at: http://mediacast.ttu.edu/Mediasite/Catalog/Full/ccae0d370de5421e83e1f6047da4fce721.
