Spark Conference

The Spark Conference at Texas Tech University is a two day event where departments and organizations work together to bring investors, inventors, and industry in the same building for two days to showcase Texas Tech and the Lubbock community.

This conference incorporates the iLaunch Competition and the National Academy of Inventors Dinner.

The iLaunch competition is a pre-seed startup competition. LEDA has funded The Hub for prize money to be awarded to our student startups. Students will compete in a preliminary round, where the top 10 finalists present to an investor panel and the top 3 are awarded. The investor panel will score the presentations and business plans, which will then be tallied to determine who will be awarded. The National Academy of Inventors (NAI) Lubbock chapter will kick off its inaugural year in 2017 awarding and recognizing our TTUS faculty for their inventions. The dinner will host national academy faculty from many other institutions. The NAI board will invite industry representatives that are relevant to the researcher inventions being awarded to Lubbock to showcase our students, faculty, and startups.
