A fun weekend where you and your friends or potential business partners progress through a set of learning modules in a "can-do" environment that includes ideation, team formation, customer discovery, rapid prototyping, and pitch workshops. This program is the best way to get started for our 1st time entrepreneur. Food and FUN included! LEDA sponsors this event annually with their kind support launched in 2015. This program is offered two times per year, check the calendar for the next scheduled Red Raider Startup.

Red Raider Idea Competition

The Innovation Hub has launched its newest program with the help of the Texas Tech Alumni Association (TTAA). The next BIG IDEA meets American Idol. Entrepreneurs from the community, students and faculty may participate in the program. The next BIG IDEA can come from anywhere, create a 60 second video and load it onto the Idea Competition website to be queued for a vote on a 1-5 scale. Entrepreneurs will want all their friends to vote for their ideas, to win a cash prize of $2000 for the best idea and a scholarship to the Red Raider Startup Program.

Hub Camp

Once you have an idea and you are ready to understand how your idea can make money, Hub Camp is the next step. A clear road map is necessary if you are going to launch your startup. This one-day basic boot camp designed for the entrepreneur to understand the NSF ICorp. business canvas model and how to begin creating a business plan. Business canvas model and business plan templates are provided.

Discover the most effective research tools available, from using databases to understanding market demographics, learn fundamental concepts for creating an impactful marketing plan, determine sales methodologies and how to project sales revenues, learn basic techniques and tools to gain investor attention from family and friends, crowdsourcing, SBA, and institutional funding, understand the need for a strong management team as well as how to hire top talent. This program is meant to provide an outline of the work needed to be done in creating a fundable plan and a great stepping stone to compete in the iLaunch competition for a chance to win $10,000 in funding.
