The 2024 Red Raider Idea Competition encourages participants to think outside the box and share their most innovative ideas for a chance to win up to $2,000 in cash prizes. The Red Raider Idea Competition will highlight finalists in an in-person event during the Texas Tech Accelerator Competition Awards Reception!

Who can participate?

This program is open to public. Not affiliated with Texas Tech University? Not a problem, everyone is invited!

Prizes:

1st Place: $2,000   2nd Place: $1,000   3rd Place: $500

How do I apply?

Step one:

Record a 60-second video explaining your idea. Need help? Contact us to set an appointment or learn more about our resources!

Step two:

Upload your video to YouTube and make sure the video is listed as public. Learn how to upload your 60-second video to YouTube with these instructions.  Important Note: Videos longer than one-minute will be disqualified! Please trim your video to meet the video requirements.

Step three:

Fill in your basic information, a one-sentence synopsis of your idea, and share your YouTube video link. Videos can NOT be a YouTube Short or Clip. It's suggested that videos are filmed horizontally, so YouTube does not make your video a Short automatically. For additional help, reach out to Ryan Bain at ryan.m.bain@ttu.edu. Applications for the spring 2024 Red Raider Idea Competition are closed. Stay tuned for our next competition!

Step four:

You will receive an email with a link to the competition voting website after the application deadline. Share it with your friends, family, classmates, and professors to vote on their favorite idea during the voting period from March 11-20! Applications will be evaluated based on the number of public votes and pitch rubric.

Make it into the final competition and win BIG!

Once the public voting period has ended, finalists will be selected and notified via email. Finalists will be required to attend a pitch workshop on March 26th. Finalists will compete for $3,500 in total cash prizes at the first in-person Red Raider Idea Competition on Friday, April 5th.
