Guide to Research

TTU Guide to Research

Research, scholarship and creative activity are important at Texas Tech University. To aid new and current faculty in navigating the complexities of sponsored research, the Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) has created the Guide to Research at Texas Tech University.

While some sections of this guide are designed for new faculty members, current faculty members should find this guide a valuable resource as well. Use the left-hand navigation to guide through the chapters.

This guide is not official policy. It is meant to serve as a reference to help faculty understand how the units of the OVPR operate and identify the assistance that is available for grant preparation and research-related compliance. Official Texas Tech operating policies can be found here.

The information in this guide is current as of publication, but is subject to change. Changes will be made as necessary, and will be available on our web site dedicated to this guide. Researchers are also encouraged to check with the appropriate area for updates as proposals are developed. As this guide is intended to be an evolving reference work and may be updated frequently, check back often to make sure that you have the latest information. Changes to this document will be announced in the monthly electronic newsletter Scholarly Messenger.
