Second Forum on Teaching Excellence and Student Success
On Friday, April 22, 2016 from 2:30-4:00 p.m., a second Forum on Teaching Excellence and Student Success will be held in the Ballroom of the SUB.
The second Forum on Teaching Excellence and Student Success will feature structured small and large group discussions around several core topics that emerged from the first forum, among them considering and prioritizing actionable steps toward an institutional culture of teaching excellence. Discussion topics will include the following possible courses of action:
- Establishing a distinguished faculty rank, similar to the Horn Professor, focused on recognizing the most outstanding teachers in our institution
- Introducing new elements for documenting teaching quality in tenure and promotion dossiers
- Recognizing teaching excellence in merit pay, and
- Additional suggestions that may be proposed by those in attendance.
