Texas Tech's three-year AAALAC-I (Association for Assessment and Accreditation of
Laboratory Animal Care International) site visit is set for June 27-29.
The site team will be composed of four members who will spend three days looking at
all aspects of the animal care and use program at the university.
Maintaining a full accreditation from AAALAC is essential in order to prove the level
of excellence of the animal care and use program at Texas Tech. The accreditation
is also important in order to maintain resources from some funding agencies.
Texas Tech has achieved continuous accreditation from AAALAC since 1998.
Any animal facility is subject to a visit from the site team. If there are questions
or assistance is needed prior to the site visit please contact Karin Fritz at 806-834-6183.
