Commercialization Accelerator Fund Grant Competition
This competition is not posted in FY 2008. Prior statistics are noted below.
The Office of the Vice President for Research sponsors $100,000 in grant support to accelerate development of research products with commercial potential at Texas Tech University. Designed to support general technology transfer efforts at Texas Tech, the awards are intended to address the early stages of product development, proof of concept, and the subsequent critical funding gap that often exists between basic research and the reduction to practice of a technology. The funds are competitively awarded upon the following criteria:
- Likelihood of the university obtaining patents or other forms of protection for intellectual property,
- Potential for attracting investor funding,
- Prospects for licensing and marketing,
- Likelihood that the project can be completed in the timeframe and budget proposed.
