Research Instrumentation Support
Call For Proposals
To enhance the research infrastructure, the Office of the Vice President for Research announces the availability of $150,000 in grant support for major equipment maintenance and service contracts for equipment used only in research. Proposals will be evaluated by this office based on their academic impact and their contribution to the overall intellectual environment at Texas Tech.
Proposals may be submitted by any Texas Tech faculty member, regardless
of departmental affiliation. They should describe the research project(s),
the specific equipment item covered by the service contract, the equipment’s
role in this project, and the total amount requested. The amount requested
may not exceed $25,000. If the anticipated contract costs exceed this amount,
the source of additional funds must be identified. Multi-year contracts
may be requested, but the total award must be expended or encumbered by
August 31, 2009.
The OVPR will accept applications until Wednesday, March 5, 2008.

- The research instrument support request should not exceed 3 pages. The format will consist of one-inch margins on each numbered page, 1.5 line spacing, font size 12 point or larger and font type one of Arial, Helvetica, Palatino, Palatino Linotype or Georgia.
The Office of the Vice President for Research (2-3905) is available to answer any questions and to provide assistance in the preparation of proposals.
Upload Instructions
Proposals submitted in response to this Funding Opportunity must be submitted electronically and must be structured in two (2) PDF documents for upload as noted above. APPLICATIONS MAY NOT BE SUBMITTED IN PAPER FORMAT.
The upload process is secured through eraider and includes an electronic form to be completed at the time of submission.
Proposal submissions will be taken up to 4 P.M. (CDT) on Wednesday, March 5, 2008.
An electronic receipt for the upload will be automatically routed to the OVPR and to the eraider user uploading the proposal. An ORS internal routing sheet is not required.
