Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center --
Texas Tech University
Joint Initiative
To foster collaborations between Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) and Texas Tech University (TTU), the TTUHSC Office of the Executive Vice President for Research and the TTU Office of the Vice President for Research announce the availability of $500,000 in grant support to stimulate the generation of innovative new collaborative research efforts between the two institutions. The funds will be awarded on a competitive basis. Proposals will be judged by a panel of external experts based on their likelihood of generating major extramural funding from sources such as the National Institutes of Health (NIH). For equipment requests, priority will be given to programs with current extramural support.
Proposals must involve faculty from both TTUHSC and TTU, with a principal investigator from each institution. There are no limits to the amount that may be requested – except that it may not exceed the $500,000. The total award must be spent within a two-year period. The funds may be used for any research-related expenditure, including salaries. Major equipment requests must include a long-term utilization and maintenance plan based on a user-fee schedule. Applicants are encouraged to propose large, multidisciplinary programs that have the potential to introduce new, novel areas of academic collaboration between TTUHSC and TTU that will lead to new grant funding.
