WiSE/ATMO Ph.D. student Brian Hirth graduates from program

(Above photo): WiSE/ATMO Ph.D. graduate Brian Hirth earned his Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences and graduated in May from Texas Tech University. His dissertation was titled "Examination of the Coastal Transition Zone in Hurricane Francis."

Brian is also a WiSE Research Associate and is involved with the Texas Tech University Hurricane Research Team (HRT) and participated in Project SCOUT earlier this summer. The goal of Project SCOUT is to collect high resolution dual-Doppler datasets over StickNet deployment arrays of heavy thunderstorm outflows from both supercell and non-supercell events.
