Where is the Conference? - SUB MapThe all-day conference on Friday, April 5th is held in the meetings rooms of the Student Union Building (upper level) on the Texas Tech Campus starting as early as 8:30 a.m. with a continental breakfest and continueing througout the day until the last session ends at 5:00 p.m. The registration desk is located on the upper level of the Student Union Building, opposite the Matador Room, near the elevator. How do I access the program?For more information and details of the concurrent panel sessions and the guest speaker presentations go to Conference Program Who is required to register?Registration is required for all presenters and attendees (student and non-student). Registration Form What if I want to attend the keynote speaker presentations? Do I need to register?Registration is required for all. For both student & non-student attendees wishing to hear the morning & keynote speaker presentations, you can also register for FREE . The registration desk is located on the upper level of the Student Union Building, opposite the Matador Room, near the elevator. What if I am attending because of a class? Do I need to register?Registration is required for all. Students can register for FREE if they need to attend one or more sessions and/or the guest speaker presentations for course credit. You will be required to sign in after the session you attend. See the session monitor in the room for details. Where is the registration desk? - SUB MapAll participants registered and non registered, will check in at the registration desk to pick up a conference packet. For those that have paid and registered early you will receive a conference bag and name tag with your lunch ticket. If you registerd late, you will receive a progarm and access to any other materials on the desk. The registration desk is located on the upper level of the Student Union Building, opposite the Matador Room, near the elevator. What do I get when I register?Paid registration provideds you access to the pre-conference event on Thursday and all day entry the following day; a continental breakfast, keynote speaker presentations, all panel sessions and the luncheon. FREE registration provides all of the above, excluding the luncheon. When is the last day to register for the conference?
What is the cost?
Cost includes access to a continental breakfast, all concurrent sessions, special guest speaker presentations, and the luncheon. Can I pay the registration fee the day of the conference?Yes, but we encourage Early Registration, which ends March 29 and will include the breakfast and lunch. Any Late Registrations, received after this date as well as on the day of the conference, will have an increased fee for both students ($25 )and non-students ($40). (See "Can I attend the conference for FREE?" question below.) Can I pay the registration fee in cash?Yes. Checks are prefered. Made payable to Texas Tech University. Where do I send my registration form and payment?Mail to Texas Tech University, Women's Studies Program, Attn: Conference Registration, Box 42009, Lubbock, TX. 79409-2009. Hand deliver to DOAK Hall RM 125. DEADLINE April 6th. What if I only want to attend the luncheon, can I pay the day of the conference?Yes (checks & cash), but we encourage Early Registration, which ends March 29 and will include the breakfast and lunch. Any Late Registrations, received after this date as well as on the day of the conference, will have an increased fee for both students ($25) and non-students ($40). (See "Can I attend the conference for FREE?" question below.) Can I attend the conference for FREE?Yes. Students and non-students can attend the conference for FREE but will not have access to the continental breakfast or the luncheon. What/Who does the money go to?A portion of the proceeds goes to fund and support Women’s Studies student scholars, both as individuals and as a registered student organization at Texas Tech University. How do I show proof of attendance to my professor?Proof of attendance will be provided to students needing to attend one or more sessions for course credit. The Conference Program will be used as your proof of attendance but you will also be asked to print and sign in at the end of each session. See the session monitor for detials. Why do we require attendees to register?By completing the registration form they are helping the Women’s Studies Program monitor our attendance, make new connections, and inform us of your interest in our Program. Can I volunteer for the conference?Yes. We need you to help make the Women's Studies Conference a huge success by serving as a volunteer. Specific tasks, as well as miscellaneous duties, are offered to provide you an experience of a behind the scenes look at organizing and planning a conference of this nature. All volunteers must attend a volunteer training workshop. Read more... Is there parking on campus for those attending the conference?For visitors without a TTU parking sticker on their vehicle, the "Band" parking lot at the South side of the Music Bldg./Student Union Bldg. is recommended. This lot is a park and pay system. Enter off of 15th & University for directions from the traffic kiosk to this area. Visitors unable to find parking in this area will be directed to the closest available parking upon inquiry at the traffic kiosk. Read more...
