How to apply
Each application form should be completed with additional qualifications. (Note: Each form list 4 specific qualifications to be met before the application can be reviewed)
IN ADDITION TO YOUR APPLICATION, you must have on file at TTU:
- Official Transcript(s)
- Scores on the A.C.T. or S.A.T (prospective freshmen). Other applicants should furnish cummulative GPA.

- February 1 - Applications and support materials are due by 5 PM
(Note: if the 1st of the month falls on a weekend, the application is due the first business day following the deadline)
- March 1 - Winners will be notified by email
- April - Winners recognized at our Conference Luncheon & Scholarship Awards Presentation
 Note: Winners will be publicly recognized at the All-University Conference luncheon. Scholarship recipients and members of their immediate family are welcome to the luncheon at no charge as a guest of the Women's Studies Program.
Graduate
- The Rae Nell Griggs Scholarship Endowment is established by the generosity of the Lubbock Area Lights Chapter of the American Business
Women’s Association. The scholarship is designated to be awarded to a full time, undergraduate or graduate student. Student must be
enrolled in a class associated with the Women’s Studies Program at Texas Tech University, or a course pertaining to women’s and
gender studies (as deemed by the Women’s Studies Program Director.) Upon receipt of the award, student is required to attend at
least one meeting of the Lubbock Area Lights-American Business Women’s Association for gift recognition. The scholarship award is
$250 for one semester (Fall or Spring) and may be awarded repeatedly at the discretion of the Director of Women’s Studies. A new
application must be filed each year.

Check List
Evaluation is based on the following:
- Spelling, grammar, punctuation and articulation of written materials
- GPA Requirements (see each scholarship for details)
- Completion of a brief essay (not more than 500 words) explaining the applicants interest and involvement in matter's particularly relevant to women's lives
- Two (2) letters of recommendation
- A brief summary of extracurricular activities such as honors, achievements, scholastic awards, and professional accomplishments
