Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

diversity

The College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources (CASNR) at Texas Tech University is a college that understands the significance of diversity and inclusion in both academic and personal settings. Diversity is defined as 'the state or quality of being different,' and in our college, we embrace and celebrate these differences.

Beyond just the acknowledgement that diversity is important, our college strives to create opportunities and experiences that allow our students, staff and faculty to showcase these differences – creating a fully inclusive academic environment. Inclusive environments lead to advancements in scholarship, research, and academia, as well as improving interpersonal relationships and allowing for a more welcome climate for all. There is an extraordinary commitment required in the reaching the ideal inclusive environment, which involves the participation of everyone within the college and Texas Tech University CASNR is committed to achieving just that.

The advancement of diversity and inclusion within CASNR is both a challenge and an opportunity for the college to reach new potentials. The increased attention and effort towards these efforts will be headed by the Administrator for Diversity and Graduate Student Recruitment and the CASNR Dean's Office. With support from the TTU Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and the whole college, we will work towards creating diversity and inclusion champions in our college and all over our campus.
