Tech livestock judging team wins at Nat'l Western Show
McKinney junior standout Caleb Crosswhite took high individual overall honors and Texas Tech University's livestock judging team won at Denver's National Western Stock Show on Sunday. The Red Raiders tallied a total team score of 4,770 points, distancing the competition by 46 points.
During the event the Tech team members swept the competition, winning every division including cattle, sheep and goats, swine and oral reasons. Following Tech at the top of the standings were Oklahoma State University, Kansas State University, Texas A&M University and Western Illinois University. In addition to Crosswhite's outstanding performance, Rathmann said junior Josh Cribbs from Plant City, Fla., junior Ben Scott from Douglas, Ga., and junior Chelsea Clifton from Kingfisher, Okla., also finished in the 'Top 10' overall.

The team is coached by Ryan Rathmann, an assistant professor in Tech's Department of Animal and Food Sciences and Tech graduate student Bryan Bernhard. Established in 1906, the National Western Stock Show is one of the nation's oldest and largest shows livestock judging contests.
