CASNR grad named president of Chicago futures brokerage division
A graduate of Texas Tech University's Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics has been named president of R.J. O'Brien & Associates Futures, a private client division of the massive Chicago-based firm. The company is one of the largest independent futures brokerage enterprises in the United States.
"I'm truly honored to take on this exciting leadership position," said Donna Heidkamp, a 15-year veteran of the firm. The Hereford native began her new duties earlier this month.
Heidkamp graduated from Texas Tech with a bachelor's degree in agricultural economics in 1994. Her master's degree in financial markets and trading is from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
After completing the Chicago Mercantile Exchange Agricultural Broker Training Program, Heidkamp joined R.J. O'Brien as trading desk clerk and account executive. A few years later she was named a trading desk manager and senior account executive, monitoring risk exposure, developing employee training programs and working with back-office and client relationship management software.
Heidkamp, who lives in Chicago, has served as a market commentator on several television network business programs.
