North American Int'l; Livestock judging team finishes season on strong note
In a down to the wire finish at Louisville's North American International Livestock Exposition on Wednesday (Nov. 16), Texas Tech's livestock judging team pulled out a third place victory among 30 teams from across the country. The Red Raiders edged out other top performers, taking the lead in the performance beef division, and placing second in cattle, third in sheep, and fifth in swine.
The Tech team began the year with a win at Denver's National Western Stock Show, and earlier this month finished second at Kansas City's American Royal. In this week's competition Oklahoma State University took the top spot, and Kansas State University finished second. A mere 32 points separated the top three teams. The annual event tested contestants' knowledge of cattle, sheep and swine, as well as their oral reasons.

In addition, Crosswhite, along with senior Meagan Igo of Plainview and senior Josh McCann of Newport, Va., were selected for the All-American team. The All-Americans were honored for their scholastic achievement, community service and contest performance.
