J. Robert and Margaret Clements Anderson Scholarship

The J. Robert and Margaret Clements Anderson Scholarship was established by Mr. and Mrs. J. Robert Anderson in 1999. This scholarship is awarded to students who are majoring in the Department of Landscape Architecture at Texas Tech University and are recommended by the department staff.

Flora Mayfield and Ross Ayers Endowed Memorial Scholarship

The Flora Mayfield and Ross Ayers Endowed Memorial Scholarship was established by the Estate of Burton R. Ayers in memory of Flora Mayfield and Ross Ayers in 2003. Major General Ross Ayers was one of seven children born to G. M. and Linda Ayers. He began his military career in 1931 by enlisting in Service Battery, 131st Field Artillery Battalion, and 36th Infantry Division of the Texas National Guard. Commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant, Artillery in 1939. Mobilized with the 36th Division in 1943, served in the Europe Theater. Awards: Silver Star (for landing the first Artillery Piece on the beach head at Salerno, Italy). The Scholarship is awarded to students in the Departments of Plant and Soil Science, Landscape Architecture, or Natural Resources Management. The students must have completed at least 12 semester credit hours. Preferences are given to students who intend to teach.

Ross R. Wolfe-Luther Burbank Scholarship Fund

The Ross R. Wolfe-Luther Burbank Scholarship Fund was established by Ms. Billie Wolfe in 1985. This scholarship was established in honor of her father, Ross R. Wolfe, and Luther Burbank, famous plant breeder. The scholarship is awarded to undergraduates or graduate students majoring in Landscape Architecture who demonstrate an understanding of resources as they affect people.

Sabrina Turner Coffman Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Sabrina Turner Coffman Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by friends and family of Sabrina Turner Coffman in 2005. Sabrina was born and raised in Abilene. She graduated from Wylie High School in 1999. She was active in Varsity basketball, track, and softball. She was head drum major her senior year. As a junior, she was the recipient of the Arion Award. She was a member of the National Honor Society. Sabrina graduated from Texas Tech in 2004, Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree. She was a member of the Goin' Band from Raider Land, Secretary of the Tech Student Chapter of Landscape Architecture, and was in the Parliamentarian of Tau Beta Sigma. She was inducted into the Golden Key Society, received the Dale Chapman Scholarship, as well as the Texas Garden Club District 1 State Scholarship. The Scholarship is awarded to students who are majoring in Landscape Architecture in good standing who excel at graphics and have a technical understanding of the landscape architecture field.
