Texas Tech University's College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources is gearing up to host its annual Career Fair from noon to 4 p.m. on Wednesday (Oct. 6) in the ballroom of the university's Student Union Building in Lubbock.
Program leaders expect some 20 company representatives from businesses eager to meet and schedule CASNR students for potential interviews. The event is hosted by CASNR and Texas Tech's University Career Center.
"This is a wonderful opportunity for students to visit with many employers at one time," said Sandra Addo, CASNR's Administrator for Diversity & Graduate Student Recruitment.
Among the companies scheduled to attend are:
- Agri Beef Co.
- Agtexas Farm Credit Services
- Cactus Feeders
- Crop Quest
- Five Rivers Cattle Company
- Garden Design Inc.
- Green Plains Cattle Company
- JBS USA, Inc.
- Seaboard Foods

- TCU Ranch Management
- Texas A&M Forest Service

Addo stressed that it's important for CASNR students to make a professional first impression on prospective employers, and strongly encouraged students seeking jobs to bring updated resumes and dress professionally.
In addition, Addo said the University Career Center provides services to undergraduate and graduate students, as well as alumni from Texas Tech. Students and alumni can schedule face-to-face, phone or video appointments. The office is located in the Wiggins Complex.
The staff has researched, collected and developed resources to support students as they navigate the job search process and graduate school application process. This includes professional document writing; interviewing/salary negotiation; professional dress/etiquette; and the internship search process.
