Abilene, Texas, program officials report. Separately, Tech's Ranch Horse Black team
placed third at the national competition.
Among the winners from the Tech team were:

More than 3,000 competitors attended the five-day Stock Horse of Texas World Show & Derby with participants coming from 13 states, and an age range from eight to 80.
It's been a very good year for Texas Tech's Ranch Horse Teams. In April the team captured the program's sixth national championship and first since 2016 by dominating three other teams in the competition at the Hughes Trailers Collegiate Ranch & Stock Horse Championship at the Tri-State Fairgrounds in Amarillo. Tech won the overall Division I competition with a two-go-round score of 288, easily outpacing nearby rival West Texas A&M, which finished second.
