Herring named Davis College’s new Program Manager for Student Retention

Maeley Herring has been named Program Manager for Student Retention in Texas Tech's Davis College
of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources, college officials announced this month.
She will be based in Davis College's Dr. Bill Bennett Student Success Center, joining
a group of professionals in the Davis College Dean's Office charged with recruiting
and retaining the best students for the college. She stepped into her new position
on May 16.
Prior to joining the Davis College staff, Herring served as a Visitors Center Admissions Counselor with Texas Tech Undergraduate Admissions, and earlier worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Agri-Techsan Co-Advisor within Davis College. The Archer City, Texas native received her bachelor's degree in agricultural communications and is currently working toward a master's degree in agricultural communications, both from Texas Tech.
Other members of Davis College's Student Success Center staff include:

Sandra Addo (2020) Program Manager for Diversity & Graduate Student Recruitment. She coordinates diversity recruitment of all students for Davis College through a targeted effort. In addition, she markets and promotes Davis College graduate programs. Prior to joining the Davis College staff, Addo served as an admissions counselor with Texas Tech's Office of Undergraduate Admissions. The Wylie, Texas, native received her bachelor's degree in business administration and marketing, and her master's degree in strategic communication and innovation from Texas Tech.

Tristin Campbell (2021) Assistant Director for Academic & Student Programs. She is responsible for undergraduate programs, degree plans, transfer credits, commencement, awarding of undergraduate degrees, advising, supervisory duties and assisting Davis College's Associate Dean for Academic & Student Programs. The Brownwood, Texas, native received her bachelor's degree in public relations (2011) and is working toward her master's degree in instructional design and technology, both from Texas Tech.

Shelbey Havens (2018); Assistant Director of Recruitment. Her duties include overseeing campus visits for prospective students; traveling to recruitment events; maintaining communication with prospective high school and transfer students, while assisting them in the next step process; hosting and coordinating on-campus recruitment events; and managing recruitment material. She's also responsible for coordinating the Davis College Congressional Internship Program. Havens received her bachelor's degree in agricultural communications from Texas Tech.
Madi Nall (2021) Administrator for Scholarships. She oversees scholarship awarding process for the college including entering freshmen, entering transfer and currently enrolled students from application submission to awarding process, as well as manage two university accounts which include maintaining spreadsheets, preparing deposits, purchase orders and other necessary procedures. The Plainview, Texas native received her bachelor's degree in agricultural communications from Texas Tech (2019).
The Dr. Bill Bennett Student Success Center is named for long-time member of the Department of Plant and Soil Science's emeritus faculty Bill Bennett. Bennett joined the Texas Tech faculty in 1968, and was a trailblazer in raising money for scholarships to increase recruitment of students, in addition to spearheading creation of the college's Ambassadors for Agriculture and Agri-Techsans programs.
