With final exams just around the corner, Texas Techs Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources is once again offering its students a tasty incentive to stay focused. On Wednesday, April 29, from 9 to 11 a.m., the college will hand out free donuts at the historic Texas Tech Dairy Barn Loft.
'This event is for our Davis College students, reminding them in a fun way to study for finals. Well hand out donuts until we run out.'
“This event is for our Davis College students, reminding them in a fun way to study for finals,” said Madonna Bullard, a student success specialist in Davis Colleges Dr. Bill Bennett Student Success Center. “Were having it a little earlier this time, so students are more prepared. Well hand out donuts until we run out.”
Alongside the donut giveaway, the event will feature campus partners tabling, including The Learning Center, The Writing Center, The Counseling Center, University Coaching, and The Career Center.
The Student Success Center team includes Maeley Stroupe (Associate Director for Student Success), Sandra Addo (Assistant Director for Recruitment & Career Development), Megan Biggs (Program Manager for Academic Student Programs), Brittyn LeCompte (Program Manager – College Recruiter), and Chloe Krause (Program Manager for Recruitment & Marketing). The group is led by Robert Cox, Davis College Associate Dean for Academic & Student Programs.
The center bears the name of Dr. Bill Bennett, a longtime faculty member whose influence still shapes the colleges approach to student engagement. Bennett joined the university in 1968 as part of the Department of Plant & Soil Science and became a driving force behind scholarship development and leadership programs, including the Ambassadors for Agriculture and the Agri-Techsans.
