
Officials with Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources this week announced the appointment of Abby Jones, a recent graduate of Texas Tech with experience in agricultural event operations and business administration, as an administrative coordinator in the colleges Deans Office.

Jones began her role May 18 and will be based in the Goddard Building, where she will serve as a central point of contact for students, faculty and visitors while helping coordinate a wide range of administrative and student-focused initiatives.
According to Senior Director of Administration & Finance Laci Hardman, the position is designed to strengthen day-to-day operations within the Deans Office and Student Success Center while expanding support for college programming and outreach.

In her new role, Jones will oversee front desk operations, serving as the first point of contact for the Deans Office and Student Success Center. Her responsibilities include managing communications, coordinating office logistics and supplies, supporting procurement processes, and helping maintain facilities and fleet operations.
She also will provide broader administrative support across the college, including assisting with scheduling and travel coordination, maintaining communications systems such as contributing to design and outreach efforts that support student success initiatives.
In addition, Jones will play a key role in planning and executing major college events, including the Ag Honors Banquet, Ag Fest, Ag Olympics and the annual Pig Roast, as well as supporting activities tied to Texas FFA competitions and Ag Week programming.
Jones earned a Master of Business Administration from Texas Techs Rawls College of Business in December 2024 and a bachelors degree in animal science from Davis College in 2023.
Her professional experience includes administrative and event roles with the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, the State Fair of Texas and the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo, where she supported large-scale youth and agricultural programs involving thousands of participants.
