Davis College Events Coordinator Chloe Krause
As Texas Techs Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources broadens its ambitions in research, student recruitment and alumni engagement, it is also investing in the team responsible for telling those stories.
'We are excited to see Chloe step into this role and bring her creativity, organization and dedication to the events that bring our Davis College community together.'
The college has appointed Chloe Krause, a Texas Tech animal science graduate and former student leader, as events coordinator, strengthening a rapidly expanding Marketing & Communications office that has grown over the past year into a multidisciplinary team focused on strategic communications, digital engagement and signature events.
Krause, who began her new role July 23, will oversee many of the colleges signature events, including Ag Week, the Homecoming Breakfast, the annual Pig Roast, Winter Welcome, the Distinguished Alumni & Outstanding Young Alumni Awards, and the Davis College Awards Ceremony & Honors Banquet.
Her appointment marks the latest addition to a communications office that has expanded under the leadership of Director of Strategic Marketing & Communications, Mary Moenning, reflecting the colleges broader effort to elevate its visibility while supporting the goals of its Pursuit of PRIME strategic initiative.
“We are excited to see Chloe step into this role and bring her creativity, organization and dedication to the events that bring our Davis College community together,” said Moenning. “Her knowledge of the college and our team, along with her ability to build relationships and manage complex projects, will be a tremendous asset as we continue to grow and strengthen the experiences we create for our students, alumni, industry partners, and supporters.”
For Krause, the position represents an opportunity to continue serving the college that shaped her career.
"Im excited to serve the college in this new capacity by planning and executing our signature events for students, alumni and supporters of Davis College," Krause said. "I look forward to creating opportunities that strengthen connections, celebrate the accomplishments of our students and alumni, and highlight the traditions that make this a special place."
Krause most recently served as program manager for recruitment and marketing in the college's Dr. Bill Bennett Student Success Center. She earned her bachelor's degree in animal science from Texas Tech in 2024 and previously served as a graduate research and teaching assistant in Oklahoma State Universitys Department of Animal and Food Science.
While at Texas Tech, she worked as an undergraduate assistant in the Department of Animal & Food Sciences, served as a student assistant in the Student Success Center and completed a Farm Animal Sales internship with Elanco Animal Health in Salt Lake City. She also served as president of the Student Agricultural Council during the 2023-24 academic year.
Her arrival continues a period of significant growth for Davis Colleges Marketing & Communications office.
Moenning joined the college a year ago after building a career in agricultural and food marketing, including as a senior public relations specialist with Curious Plot, a Minneapolis-based agency serving leading food and agriculture brands. Earlier, she held communications and quality leadership positions with Hormel Foods, where her work supported nationally recognized brands including SPAM, SKIPPY, Planters, Corn Nuts and Hormel Chili.
Since arriving at Texas Tech, Moenning has expanded the communications operation to support the colleges seven academic departments, eight research centers and institutes, student recruitment efforts, development initiatives and the Pursuit of PRIME campaign, the colleges decade-long strategy to become one of the nations premier agricultural institutions.
Supporting that effort is Lead Content Specialist Kadyn Collins, who joined the deans office in March after earning both bachelors and masters degrees in agricultural communications from Texas Tech. Collins previously served as a creative media director and student marketing assistant, helping develop visual storytelling and promotional campaigns that advanced the colleges strategic initiatives.
Leading the colleges digital presence is Lead Web Developer Melanie Jackson, who joined the communications office last fall after serving as multimedia specialist for the Department of Plant & Soil Science. Jackson oversees the development and optimization of Davis Colleges web presence, ensuring that the colleges academic programs, research initiatives and outreach activities are presented through an accessible and unified digital platform.
The professional staff is complemented by a six-member team of graduate and undergraduate students who produce photography, video and social media content, giving the office expanded capacity to showcase research discoveries, student success stories and alumni achievements across multiple platforms.
