Assistant Director of Donor Relations, Stewardship & Engagement Brittyn LeCompte
Texas Tech’s Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources is putting a new emphasis on the relationships that sustain its academic mission, adding an alumna with experience in student recruitment and the livestock industry to its development team.

The college has appointed Brittyn LeCompte as assistant director of donor relations, stewardship and engagement, a role focused on strengthening connections between the college and the alumni, families and donors who support its students, faculty and programs. LeCompte began her new position Aug. 12 and is based in the college’s development suite in the Goddard Building.
LeCompte will help shape a collegewide approach to donor stewardship, coordinating acknowledgments, scholarship communications, recognition efforts and updates that show donors how their contributions are making a difference. She will work with development and communications staff to tell stories about the students, research and programs supported by private giving.
According to Matt Williams, Davis College’s Senior Director of Development, the position combines relationship-building with the practical work behind it, including maintaining stewardship records, tracking donor recognition and preparing impact reports and other donor-facing materials.
LeCompte also will help coordinate cultivation, stewardship and recognition events, working within Davis College and the university’s Office of Advancement, he said.
For a college whose programs range from animal and plant sciences to natural resources, agricultural education and landscape architecture, the role offers a direct link between donors and the work their support makes possible.

LeCompte comes to the development office with a recent understanding of the college from the student perspective. She earned a bachelor’s degree in animal science from Texas Tech in 2025 and most recently served as program manager for college recruitment with the Dr. Bill Bennett Student Success Center.
In that position, she worked with a team responsible for attracting and retaining students across Davis College’s seven academic departments. The experience gave her a close view of the college’s students and the programs that shape their academic and professional lives.
Her background also includes experience across the livestock industry. She has worked as a closing sales intern with Showpig in Ohio, a swine production assistant with Beyers Farms in Texas and a livestock intern with the American Royal Livestock Show in Missouri.
LeCompte joins a Davis College development team that includes Williams, as well as Assistant Director of Development Tyler Schuster, Assistant Director of Development Maggie Key and Business Manager Peggy Espinoza-Horn. For LeCompte, the move represents a return to the college in a different role; one centered on helping build the relationships that connect its present work to the people invested in its future.
