Water. It's one of the basic elements of life. Making sure there's enough for use in agriculture is of vital importance, and it's an area of focus for a research center at Texas Tech University "" the CASNR Water Center in the College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources.
Texas Tech University's Graduate School has announced the recipients of this year's awards, which recognize the quality of work shown in graduate students' theses and dissertations. This year those honored included topics in biological and life sciences. Students were nominated by their discipline's faculty members for the cash award donated by the Helen Jones Foundation.
Led by its public relations students, Texas Tech's Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow chapter had a strong showing this week at the national 'Ag Media Summit' in Scottsdale, Ariz. Program officials said more than 600 participants attended the summit, one of the largest gatherings of crop and livestock publications professionals in the United States.
