Ghi Fremaux, Assistant Professor of Painting at Texas Tech University School of Art

Ghislaine (Ghi) Fremaux holds her MFA from the Pennsylvania State University. Her undergraduate studies began at Bard College at Simon's Rock and culminated in a BFA from Tufts University with SMFA, Boston. Current and recent projects examine the practice of social nudism, aging, intimacy, consent and bioethics, and the medical body. In the service of these, Fremaux has undertaken interdisciplinary collaboration with sociologists, gerontologists, and gastroenterologists, in endeavors funded by the TTU Scholarship Catalyst Program and Arts in Medicine grant initiative. She has exhibited widely both nationally and internationally, with such curators as Omar Lopez-Chahoud, Carter E. Foster, and Katie Pfohl. Notable solo shows have taken place at K Space Contemporary, Midwestern State University, Valdosta State University, and Hastings College. She lives and works in Lubbock, Texas.
