Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Studio Art
The Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Art focuses on the development of students' personal artistic expression and technical skills in relation to two other disciplines outside of the School of Art. Students select art course offerings from the six studio areas and with their advisor, they will select courses within the CVPA and an appropriate minor outside the CVPA. The BA culminates in a capstone project that is overseen by a committee of three faculty members, one of whom is the SOA BA in Art advisor and the other two chosen from the other disciplines selected by the student. Students who have chosen to involve themselves in the pursuit of a BA in Art will gain an understanding of and appreciation for art as it can be integrated into other fields of study. A BA in Art prepares students for a wide variety of careers that employ arts in tandem with other disciplines as well as graduate study in one of the areas of focus.
