Attract and Retain Top Faculty

A significant challenge in the College, is to find the resources to help faculty continue their successes in advancing the frontiers of human knowledge. Complementary challenges for the College are to retain and attract such faculty. The following are opportunities in which you can make a lasting impact upon our faculty:

Chair/Program Directors

Endowed Chair and Program Directorships attract the best-of-the-best senior faculty. These endowments enable the holder to support the work of their department (chair) or program (director) in research, teaching and mentoring of students. Minimum Endowment: $1 million

Professorship

Endowed Professorships enable Texas Tech to recruit, retain and support outstanding senior faculty. These endowed funds supplement faculty salaries as well as provide support for course development, research, graduate assistants and equipment. Minimum Endowment: $500,000

Associate Professorship

Endowed Associate Professorships are used to recognize mid-career faculty who are "rising stars" in their discipline. The endowment recognizes their achievement and supports their continued research and scholarship. The recipient would hold the named position until receiving promotion to professor. The recipient will have demonstrated strong research and leadership skills and be highly regarded nationally and internationally among his/her peers. Minimum Endowment: Humanities $200,000; Social Sciences $250,000; Sciences $300,000

Assistant Professorship

Endowed Assistant Professorships are used to recruit strong junior faculty. Each is an endowment the candidate would hold until receiving tenure. Such a recipient will have demonstrated potential for strong research and leadership skills and be highly locally regarded by his/her peers. Minimum Endowment: Humanities $100,000; Social Sciences $150,000; Sciences $200,000
